Operating Systems for Really, Really Old Computers

I have a very old computer at home: GateWay, G6-300, Pentium II, 300mHz, 128M, 5G. Originally, it runs Windows98. I tried Linux Ubuntu. It did not work. Now it is running Windows XP, but very very slow.

Any light Operating System for the old computer? The only desired function would be a web browser that can connect to internet, and the rebooting is not too slow. So, I found the following links:

I should find some time to test it – recycling old computers for education!
